Description
As a member of the Knowledge Management Innovation Department, the KM Operations Analyst assists in triaging the intake of KMI requests, supporting KMI digital tools, including troubleshooting access issues, disseminating passwords, updating documentation, and participating in collection development analysis. Supports the KMI Department and the Firm by working with attorneys and users of KMI electronic research tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Triage and assign requests into appropriate workstreams on intake.
Participate in the analysis, piloting and implementation of new KMI related tools and technology that support the firm’s knowledge management and innovation strategies
Troubleshoot and resolve access issues of KMI electronic research tools and resources, including testing the functionality of new KMI electronic research tools and resources.
Issue passwords for incoming users and deactivates credentials for departing users.
Maintain currency of KMI electronic resources records, including updating SharePoint team sites, and databases with login credentials and user lists.
Maintain documentation of procedures for handling electronic resources and create new procedures as needed.
In conjunction with the Senior KM Operations Manager, run usage and other reports on a regular basis and distributes them to KMI Management.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Participate in special projects as assigned.
Substitute for other staff members as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
Masters in Library or Information Science a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of related experience in a legal environment required, preferably in law library/KMI electronic resource management.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Working knowledge of various technology and systems, including but not limited to resource management, resource usage and request tracking systems such as EOS.Web, Research Monitor, and Quest.
Familiarity and experience with a variety of electronic research tools and resources, including but not limited to Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, Wolters Kluwer, RIA Checkpoint, etc.
Understanding of the context of KMI and legal resources and the technology behind them.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks while staying focused to complete requests in a timely, accurate, thorough, and consistent manner.
High sense of responsiveness to be able to answer routine and urgent requests.
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to work with vendors, attorneys and other users to troubleshoot access issues.
Ability to allocate and use time effectively to manage his/her own schedule, priorities, and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to firm policies and procedures.
High level of customer service.
Outstanding communication skills that enable clear, concise oral and written communication to all levels of the organization – including non-technical users, colleagues, members of the KMI Team, and management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
VISUAL ACUITY
Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
